For the purpose of solving all current wayfinding problems and designing a consistent visual information system for ferry boats in general, a modular system was introduced on which the entire system is based, as well as standards for height level and spacial distribution codes for every sign on all decks. Typeface 'MotorTransportation Signage' (MT Signage), designed for this purpose is revival of typeface 'Geogrotesque', in which the aim was to create a more simple and purer typeface for ferry signage purpose only.

Modular system

Stencil frame is basic module. It is designed by letters and it's the starting point of modular system. Typeface 'MT Signage' has four weight styles. All pictograms in system are designed by three types of grid. Grid determines the space for pictogram and his protective space inside the frame. Index marks are positioned in the upper right corner precisely defined by grid of individual pictogram, and they serve to differ "types" of ferry equipment.

Composite signs

Composite signs consist of pictograms and accompanying text, bordered by stencil frame. They are divided on destination and orientation group of composite signs. Depending on the purpose they have to serve, they can be stacked to form a larger whole (unit).

Wayfinding and coding system

The ferry is divided to the following decks: tanks, main deck, platform deck, saloon deck, sun deck and wheelhouse roof. Each deck is divided into sectors. Each sign in the system has alphanumeric name.
